Thomas Allen holds a Master’s degree in Music and Music Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College and a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. He also completed a Professional Certificate in Injury-Preventive Keyboard Technique at Salem College and studied orchestral conducting with the principal conductor of the Yale Symphony Orchestra.
With over a decade of professional experience, Thomas performs, teaches, composes, and conducts across classical, musical theater, pop, rock, jazz, and liturgical genres. As an educator, he brings expertise in piano performance, music theory, choir, accompaniment, conducting, and aural skills, while tailoring his teaching to each student’s needs. His piano compositions draw on a blend of styles, reflecting his diverse musical background.
